The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Sales Director - Small Commercial Lines. Position can be located in any of the following regions: Northeast, Southeast, Central or Midwest.
Position Overview: Success in Small Commercial Markets requires innovation, commitment, and responsiveness. That’s why, at the Hanover Insurance Group, Inc., we collaborate with our agents to develop fast, flexible, and custom-tailored solutions designed to meet the unique insurance needs for our Small Commercial Clients.
Responsibilities: Supporting local Regional Vice Presidents in converting agents to partners by managing, directing and coaching Small Commercial Sales Managers day-to-day activities Incorporate partnership strategy, small commercial business strategies, and strong knowledge of the small commercial marketplace and agents into effective sales management Manage Small Commercial Sales Managers sales efforts to develop deeper agent partnerships and achieve small commercial goals Develop Small Commercial Sales Managers competencies to achieve higher performance
Bachelors Degree 5+ years proven sales and sales management track record in small commercial and/or personal lines insurance environment Self starter and a sales leader who willingly takes ownership implementing and coaching for sound sales best practices Ability to collaborate with and influence especially with Regional Vice Presidents and Regional Presidents, as this role will be working across multiple regions and branches Effectively manage 15-20 sales people and balance multiple sales priorities in a dynamic and very fast-paced environment Knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus Excellent communication skills are essential; effective face-to-face interactions and presentations to groups, as well as strong phone skills, along with sound written communications Passion for driving actions and achieving results, with a competitive spirit of winning and an orientation towards achievement
